Premier All Aluminum Flatbed Trailer

The Premier AF-1080 all aluminum flatbed has a base weight of approximately 8,000 lb. on a typical 48 ft. unit and a 23" main beam depth. The trailer features one-piece aluminum flanges and sections without any splices and its load capacity rating is among the highest in the industry.

The Premier all aluminum drop deck is what an all aluminum drop deck should be – A full capacity product able to carry an evenly loaded capacity of 80,000 pounds and a concentrated load of 52,000 pounds in 4 feet of space.

Main Beams

Like the Roadbrute, the main beams of the Premier are manufactured with a crowned “mirror image of each other. This precision cut camber or “arch” removes the possibility of high or low beams on a Wilson trailer.

Automatic welding of the top and bottom flange to the web section produces an optimum weld penetration. The result is a unified one-piece flange and web design – No Splices and no potential for “section joint” cracking.

Side Rails

Wilson's new patented side rail and securement design is fully supported, top and bottom, with a new TJ style crossbar design that increases the strength of the rail and crossbar connections.

An integrated double "L" winch track allows winches to slide easier and enhances curb appeal of the trailer.

A "Quick Tie" plate receiving rail, located in the outside rail and below floor level, allows wider loads to be secured at multiple locations along the rail and is not susceptible to mud, ice and gunk build-up. The large cutouts in the outside rail easily fit 4" wide winch straps.


Wilson also offers two traditional style side rails (C and C+) integrated with the double "L" sliding winch track. (See Side Rail in the Popular Options below)

King Pin Area

Of course the king pin area is made of lightweight, rust-resistant aluminum and is bolted on for easy maintenance.

Aluminum Crossbars

The heavy-duty extruded aluminum crossbars are set on 18" centers and are the same crossbar successfully used in the Roadbrute line. The crossbar is even rugged enough to be used in coil hauling applications.

Aluminum crossbars run the full width of the trailer and are fastened to the main beam using aluminum clips. As an added feature Wilson attaches the clips by using stainless steel fasteners eliminating rusting and the associated issues.


The floor of the Premier is made of 1-3/8" thick aluminum flooring material with apitong nailer strips, both running the full length of the trailer without any splices. This makes the trailer very stable and successfully reduces side sway.

The floors are fastened to every aluminum crossbar using two 5/16" grade 8 screws. The use of double screws and full-length flooring material gives the Premier great floor capacity and floor life.

Aluminum Components

Landing gear supports and king pin area, the front end and rear end are all made from lightweight aluminum. After all, the Premier IS an all-aluminum trailer.


The trailers are standard with a Grote wiring harness featuring the internally grounded Ultra-Blue sealed trailer-wiring system. This system uses stainless steel fasteners and carries a 10-year warranty.

All clearance, Stop and Turn lights are standard with LED lights.

Front End

Wilson's redesigned front end has a cleaner, lower profile with gladhand and electrical hookups mounted on a removable access plate.

Rear Ends

Premier flatbeds and drop decks are standard with an extruded aluminum rear end with an Aluminum R.I.G.


Wilson provides a variety of optional suspensions designed to make the most of gross weight limitations depending on your locale

Side Rail

In addition to the standard TJ side rail, Wilson offers a more traditional style (C-style) side rail incorporating the same integrated double "L" sliding winch track. The new C+ style rail includes the "Quick Tie" plate receiving rail into the top of the side rail, which allows securement at any point along the rail.


Wilson's floors are a rugged 1-3/8" thick and are standard with two apitong nailer strips. Several other configurations are available. Talk to your Wilson Authorized Sales Representative to spec the correct floor for your needs

Landing Gear

Holland Atlas 55, 2-speed, located 145" from front of trailer; aluminum braces are standard.


6-1/4" high extruded aluminum channel; 2-piece front channel standard with cast mitered corners. Extra stake pockets are available as an extra cost option.

Spare Tire Carrier

Optional at extra cost.


TJ-style side rails are 6-1/4" high extruded aluminum channel incorporating a "Quick Tie" load securement system. Stake pockets are 3-1/2" wide x 1-5/8" deep x 4-1/2" high on 18" centers. (24" centers are optional.) Integral to the side rail is a double "L" winch track for sliding winches. Patent pending. (C-style side rail optional.)

Main Beams

I-beams are fabricated of 3-piece aluminum consisting of extruded top and bottom flanges in addition to the web. The AF-1080's main beams are 10-9/16" deep at the front and 18" deep at the rear. The AF-1090 has a beam depth of 10-9/16" at the front and 18" deep at the rear. The trailer crown is cut into the web section and the center depth varies with trailer model: Std. AF-1080 has a 23" deep beam, AF-1080SS has a 27" deep beam, AF-1090 has a 29" deep beam.


Extruded aluminum T-J type, 4-1/2"" high, on 18" centers. 12" and 15" center spacing full length are optional.


1-3/8" aluminum floor with 4 nailer strips is standard.

Rear End

Extruded aluminum rear end with two horizontal rubber bumpers. R.I.G. Bumper: aluminum tube construction is standard. Rear Stake Pockets: (4) aluminum, 3-1/2" wide x 1-5/8" deep x 4-1/2" high, flush with top of channel.

Mud Flaps

Black rubber, anti-spray/anti-sail type is standard.


System: 12 volt I.C.C. standard equipment with 7-way connector. Grote internal ground wiring harness with Ultra-Blue sealed trailer wiring system and Grote LED lights are standard. Exterior lights are Grote MicroNova™ oval grommet mounted lights. Combination Turn/Clearance lights is standard. Tail lights are Lexan, factory sealed, and rubber grommet mounted, and consist of 2 groups of 3 individual STOP & TURN tail light units: one group on each side of rear end. Clearance & marker lights, conspicuity tape, and license plate light are standard. See Light Standard Bulletin.


Hendrickson AANT-23K air ride is standard. The standard axle spread is 10'-1" (3.07m). Various axle spreads are available as options.


Two: 5-3/4" round, rated at 23,000 lb. (10,215 kg), integral with suspension.


16-1/2" x 7" x 5/8" with HXS extended service brake package, single anchor pin, air brakes, no dust shields. Mandatory FMVSS-121 and ABS anti-lock braking system standard.


Dura-Lite, steel.


Cast steel, outboard mount, hub-piloted, with Federal Mogul severe service oil seals.


Eight, 8.25 x 24.5, white, steel disc.


Eight 11-24.5 Radial Bridgestone R196.


All steel components are cleaned chemically, rinsed, and primed with a VOC-compliant, two-component urethane HS primer for rust protection, followed by a finish coat application of VOC-compliant HS acrylic urethane paint in a choice of Silver, White, Black, Dark Blue, or Red standard colors. All aluminum components are left natural.

Backup Warning System

Optional. Backup warning system consisting of audible alarm and two white lights automatically activated by reverse movement.
